MasterCard RPPS Appeals Directly to Billers in New Biller Awareness Campaign
|
 |
Multifaceted campaign is designed to help generate referrals to existing MasterCard RPPS customers. |
 |
For the first time ever, MasterCard RPPS® is gearing up a biller awareness campaign that will reach out directly to billers in a variety of industries across the nation. Leveraging RPPS's extensive connectivity and the value of the MasterCard RPPS brand for our customers, the new campaign will spotlight both payment and bill presentment services and is expected to generate qualified leads for current RPPS concentrator and BSP members.
"Our lockbox and concentrator participants do an excellent job of bringing their largest customers onto our network," said Tom Carey, MasterCard RPPS. "We want
to support their sales efforts with an integrated campaign that will facilitate biller awareness and adoption of our services and provide an enhanced referral process for current customers."
Using multiple avenues
The campaign will utilize a variety of toolsincluding marketing, direct mail, presence at conferences and forums, and advertisingto communicate with the biller community.
"The primary message will be the value of the MasterCard RPPS payment and presentment services, what we do, and how we do it," Carey said. "We feel this approach will help us develop new relationships and bring more electronically paid billers onto our network for our consumer service provider endpoints to utilize. In addition, it will help expand awareness of the MasterCard RPPS brand and its value. This will assist our BSPs' and concentrators' salespeople in using our name more effectively in their integrated marketing communications programs for payments and bill presentment distribution."
Building a pipeline
The campaign materials will invite interested prospects to contact MasterCard RPPS for both payment and presentment services. In turn, MasterCard RPPS will make referrals to existing providers based on a best-fit logic to correspond with the biller's needs.
"Some billers are unaware of the fact that their own bank might already work with RPPS for payments and bill presentment distribution," said Carey. "RPPS will be in an excellent position to find out whom the biller uses for banking or lockbox processing services and refer them to a sales representative at that company in order to discuss RPPS services.
"Essentially, we want to develop a pipeline to get qualified leads to our customers," Carey added. "Often, interested billers just don't know who the providers are, or they're looking to do one-stop shoppingtrying to find a provider that can support both their payment and presentment needs. We can direct them to a qualified provider."
Up and running
While the advertising components are expected to debut soon, some of the campaign's other elements are already in the works.
"We have plans for several conferences in the coming months, for example," said Carey, "and we're excited about making referrals to those organizations that work with us."
