Online Biller/Creditor Directory: Upgrades Make Key Asset More Valuable to Participant Operations

Users of the MasterCard RPPS Online Biller/Creditor Directory have always appreciated the operational efficiency this pivotal tool delivers. Now, this unique industry asset is undergoing an extensive update that is not only dramatically changing its look and feel, but also offering powerful new functionality.
“The directory offers participants exceptional capabilities that can significantly streamline back-office processes and boost productivity,” says Phil Skaggs, MasterCard RPPS. “The new features that are being introduced will deepen the benefits it offers our participants. We hope everyone will take full advantage of this powerful tool.”
More power and convenience
MasterCard RPPS is continually and actively on the alert for ways to improve the directory, as reflected by the recent and upcoming updates, drawn from user group, individual member, and internal staff recommendations.
“In February, users got a completely new look and feel to the view screens, for dramatically improved usability,” says Joe Rieker, MasterCard RPPS. “Not only is the data more complete - with new fields and greater detail - but it is visually organized in a way that makes it easier to access biller information. What's more, screens now have customizable properties to further improve usability.”
The search function has also been greatly enhanced:
♦ Searches are returned on average 50% faster than previously.
♦ Searches are no longer restricted to Biller Names, Biller ID, Biller Mask, or Mask Descriptor. The Advanced Search feature offers a variety of options for expanding or narrowing the search to best fit user needs.
♦ The new search option “Find Wildcards” brings back returns without requiring an exact match with the search criteria.
“What's New” and “Help” screens help speed user acclimation to the new look of the directory, and of course, customer service is available to answer any questions.
“By third quarter 2004, participants will see enhancements to the edit screens that will further improve usability, allowing quick and easy updates to a variety of biller information,” Rieker adds.
