Cathleen M. ConfortiMasterCard RPPS enjoyed a tremendously successful year in 2004. We expanded our lines of business, welcomed new customers, and added new services and enhancements that deliver greater power and versatility. Looking back at the accomplishments of 2004, we see a blueprint for continued success in 2005 and beyond.

One thing all of our customers can agree on: they want the best, fastest, most efficient tools available as their payments business diversifies and the industry adapts to changing consumer preferences. Value-added services and enhancements from MasterCard RPPS helped give our customers what they want.

MasterCard RPPS also expanded into new lines of business last year:
♦ Our reloading service for prepaid cards allowed our customers to offer consumers exceptional convenience - and opened a new revenue stream for our customers while promoting the growth of this popular new payment option.
♦ Targeting new e-B2B revenue opportunities, we also developed an offering that leverages MasterCard e-P3TM, an advanced paperless end-to-end electronic commerce solution.
♦ Most recently, we unveiled our payment-processing service for collection agencies. Modeled on our solution for the credit counseling industry, the new offering will deliver similar efficiencies and economies to an important new category of customers.

In 2005, we will focus on several exciting new initiatives in our ongoing commitment to deliver service and product enhancements, including these:
♦ Expedited payments would enable same-day account posting for electronic payments moving through our network.
♦ A two-phase biller initiative seeks to deliver payment data and dollars directly to the biller, offering new flexibility in biller connectivity.
♦ Funds verification, which offers an alternative to sponsorship while ensuring a good funds environment, will streamline the process by which originators can connect directly to MasterCard RPPS.

What ties all these developments - past and future - together is our consistent focus on expanding participation in our network and moving all of our customers (and your customers) toward a fully electronic payments environment.

We understand what everyone is looking for in electronic payments. Consumers want a safe, fast, easy-to-use bill payment solution. Electronic payments originators and receivers want a single connection to a comprehensive collection of e-payment services. Billers are looking for an electronic payment and lockbox solution that connects to every consumer e-payment service provider.

Everything we do is designed to deliver the products, services, and support to make it happen. Maybe that's why, more and more, organizations are looking to MasterCard RPPS for their electronic payments solutions. In fact, many RFPs are now requiring a connection to MasterCard RPPS. Certainly, participation boomed in 2004 - with new users such as T-Mobile, Prudential, and Charter Communications.

We anticipate another year of robust growth in 2005, as we continue to deliver solutions to broaden and deepen the reach of MasterCard RPPS and our customers. As always, we will leverage all of the resources of MasterCard International - including the vast data warehouse, which provides focused business intelligence via our reporting services - to help grow your electronic payments business. We will continue to provide a single connection to the ever-expanding world of electronic payments, with its increasingly diverse customer segments.

In 2005, you can look forward to growing participation and volume, and the continually enhanced efficiency and economy delivered by MasterCard RPPS. We certainly are.
