Working groups get the ideas flowing
Attendees engage in lively discussion, debate, and feedback
At the heart of the symposium's first day, working group sessions provided a formal but relaxed opportunity for MasterCard RPPS customers to trade ideas and to provide feedback on three topics: the biller directory, second-generation bill presentment, and exception payments.
"Working groups get the expertsour customers who work with the network every dayin one room together to address issues of common interest from their unique perspectives," says Gidget Hall, senior business leader, MasterCard Bill Payment.
In summary, the working groups addressed these issues:
- Biller directory: After reviewing progress on last year's action items, the sessions focused primarily on biller setup and on best practices.
- Bill presentment: The sessions included lively discussions on how to improve adoption and on the opportunity for MasterCard RPPS to become the common framework for a larger bill-summary presentment network.
- Exception payments: Billers and originators vigorously discussed the causes of unpostable payments and how to reduce them. Several initiatives from MasterCard RPPS that facilitate resolution of these issues were also discussed.
"These sessions generated lively debates, helpful suggestions, and real-world insights that attendees and MasterCard RPPS use to resolve operational issues and enhance performance," says Hall.
