News Search Help

News Searches
To search, just type in a few descriptive words and press the 'enter' key (or click on the "GO" button) for a list of relevant news articles. The search will find any articles that contain any of the search terms.

Choosing Keywords
For best results, it's important to choose your keywords carefully. Keep these tips in mind:
Automatic "or" Queries
By default, News Search only returns pages that include one of your search terms. There is no need to include any logical operators such as "OR" or "AND" between terms as they will be ignored.

Automatic Exclusion of Common Words
The News Search ignores common words and characters such as "where" and "how", as well as certain single digits and single letters, because they tend to slow down the search without improving the results.

Capitalization
News center searches are NOT case sensitive. All letters, regardless of how you type them, will be interpreted as upper case. For example, searches for "payment systems", "Payment Systems", and "pAyMeNt SyStEmS" will all return the same results.

Word Variations
News Search uses stemming or wildcard searches to improve search results. In other words, the search terms "paym" or "payment" will return news articles that contain "payments".
